JRT– the system conceptThe JRT metallization line consists of the Print Line and Test Line modules. On the fol-lowing pages, you will be introduced to the JRT metallization line, step by step. For the solar industry JRT is offering a standard-setting flexible system concept for the partial coating of silicon wafers by screen printing which ensures a high quality of print combined with minimum breakages and low tooling and maintenance times. Large displays, savable parameters including formulation management as well as the usage of the most modern SPC techno-logy contribute to user friendliness. The system is equipped with a MES interface for the monitoring of quality-relevant parameters and a single wafer pursuit. A visualisation of the image processing as well as the system technology with condition analysis is integrated in the system concept.02 Print stationThe printing station is characterised by the smooth screen printing ensuring low wafer mechanical stress. The screen can be moved in cleaning position, so that the printing me-chanism is easily accessible. Changing the screen and squeegee is rendered extremely simple and easy. The automatic screen positioning by means of a camera system ensures high precision and accuracy of printing. High throughput performance is attained through ,authentic “ double usage. The printing station is suitable for future cell designs. 03 Print nestWhen depositing the wafers in the print nest, they are precisely placed. The wafer is affixed with the help of a vacuum on the interruption-free print nest, so that a precise printing is assured. The print nest is equipped with a paper support which ensures a consistent clean print nest surface. It is possible to optionally interconnect a paper check, which inspects the paper for contamination. After a screen changeover, the roll-to-roll paper support can be used as a test print substrate to avoid the usage of wafers for set-up. The paper feed/transport guarantees a smooth wafer transport to the following stations.04 Print controlThe optical printing inspection of the front print is performed with only one camera sys-tem for both wafer lines on the front side of the print inspection module. The results achieved from this quality check are forwarded to the MES interface in order to assure a continuously high print quality. The printer also includes a rear side control. 05 DryingA fast and thorough drying is achieved by means of IR / warm air combination. By means of a continuous dryer concept, all handling is eliminated and an additional breakage risk is avoided.06 Buffer magazine/FlipperThe printing steps are decoupled and the system autonomy increased with a buffer sys-tem. Operational idle times of individual stations are extensively compensated by this means. In the subsequent flipper, the wafer is gently turned for the next process steps.GREATER EFFICIENCY AND THROUGHPUTAT LOWER COST PER WPIn this step, silver paste, which leads the electrical capacity from the cell, is applied to both sides of the contact using the screen printing process. JRT is able to increase throughput by process acceleration based on innovative technology.01 01 01 02 03 04 04 04 05 05 06 06 TEST LINE07 08 09 EVERY STEP IS TRANSPARENTCONTINUOUS QUALITY CHECKS PROVIDE PRECISE RESULTS07 Firing furnace unloadingCells exiting the firing furnace are once again checked for breakage. The cells are then sta-cked up in the magazine, where they can be extracted by the operator and fed back from the magazines at any time when needed.08 Cell tester The front and rear side controls are found here. The cells are classified according to printing quality and colour. In the next step the cells are exposed to artificial sunlight in order to determine the performance of the cells. 09 SortingAfter the cells are tested, they are sorted by detected classification. The number of bins is flexible and can be determined according to customer requirements. Smooth proces-sing is ensured by a special dynamic bin allocation process. The cells are deposited in foam boxes, which can then be withdrawn from the trays. To avoid confusion, an integ-rated optional label printer is also available for the purpose of printing labels stating the classification characteristics of the cells.Laser edge insulation OPTIONALIn order to achieve a high optoelectrical efficiency, the diversely endowed front and rear surfaces of the crystalline solar cells are electrically insulated from one another. The in-sulation lines are led along the cell edge. The expansion of the effective cell edge which emerges from this optimises the capacity of the cells.At the end of the metallization process, the solar cells are sorted according to effectiveness and optical criteria. A variety of different measurement and inspection procedures are used for this. The results allow each cell to be assigned a specific performance level and quality category.ServiceJRT offers service all the way through the process, from the beginning to end.
